1) SHOOT #3 REMINDERS 🌱

Thank you to everyone who signed up for Shoot #3! We are ecstatic to have over 130+ responses! With this in mind, please see the attached roles sheet below. If you were not selected for this shoot, please know that there are many upcoming opportunities and shoots approaching (one more shoot left, make sure to apply when the sign-ups go out!). If any questions remain, feel free to reach out to tfnuiuc@gmail.com with any questions, comments, or concerns!

*YOU MUST BE A UIUC STUDENT IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN SHOOTS. PLEASE NOTE THAT IN ORDER TO BE SELECTED, YOUR STATUS AS AN ACTIVE UIUC STUDENT WILL BE CHECKED + VERIFIED.*

Thank you so much to the lovely photographers, models, stylists, makeup artists, and everyone who was involved in the second shoot of the semester, “REDEFINING TWIGGY.” On behalf of myself and the Exec. Board, we are so proud of all of you and beyond impressed with the shoot! Major shoutout goes to the makeup artists for their lovely looks, the models for taking creative direction with poise and with ease (and for climbing up and down the hills in heels!), the photographers/videographers for their lovely shots, and the stylists for their gorgeous looks. Each of you played such an integral part in this shoot and we couldn’t be happier.

3) THRIFTING EVENT (March 24th) 💥

A message from Samantha Simmons (Events Director):
Join us for our Thrifted Runway Competition on March 24th at 4 pm! For this event, members will be placed in teams of 3 and have an hour to create a full outfit using only thrifted pieces. Teams will walk the runway for the chance to win a variety of superlatives, or the grand money prize!
A few, additional notes from Samantha:
- We are meeting in the SCD amphitheater.
- If you noted on the interest form that you have transportation, please bring your car to SCD.
- If you noted that you want to photograph the event, please bring your camera gear.
4) SEWING WORKSHOP (March 25th)🪡

A message from Nolan Nemeroff (Fashion Design Director):
Hello! Join us for our first fashion design workshop on Saturday, March 25th from 2-4 PM at the SCD Workshop. The lesson plan will be conducted by our Fashion Design Director Nolan Nemeroff and assisted by Jack Struthers. Both of these individuals are founders of Bad For Your Health: a design label located here in Champaign. Over the course of the workshop, participants will be taught how to use a sewing machine and construct a bag that they can take home by the end of the lesson. Materials are provided. We hope to see you there! :)
5) SPRING CLEANING CLOTHING POP-UP 🌸

Revamp your closet sustainably at our upcoming Spring Cleaning clothing swap event! Bring the items that you don’t wear anymore, and swap them out for pieces from the TFN closet or clothing that other people bring. Mark your calendars for Saturday, March 25th from 12:00pm-4:00pm - we hope to see you there!

7) CFE.3 REMINDERS 🧪

Welcome to the third iteration of the Circular Fashion Expo!
We are ecstatic to be officially launching CFE.3 today with you all! As the third iteration of the event (happy 1 year anniversary this May to CFE!), expect the unexpected. New features, new things, and new opportunities all sprinkled in with a consistent commitment to circularity, circular fashion, and circular economics will be coming to you on May 5, 2023.

CFE.3 will be taking place MAY 5, 2023 from 11 AM - 8 PM AT SIEBEL CENTER FOR DESIGN.
The day itself consists of a streamlined schedule of events, happenings, and programs. From a Swap Shop/Thrifting Event (details coming soon…), to live music, and a full production runway, CFE.3 will be a full day and evening.
An itinerary/schedule for the day with all these specific opportunities will be coming your way post-Spring Break (week of the 20th). Stay tuned for more!

Hey models! Thank you for coming to callbacks today; you all did so well, and you should be beyond proud of yourselves! The email with the mood boards, information, and all things CFE will be sent out tomorrow (as there are a lot of you and a lot of details we are making sure to check over). Once again, thank you so much for spending your evening at callbacks! I am ecstatic to get to know each and every one of you and to make this runway show amazing!

🤍PAY YOUR DUES! : $25 dollars for TFN? Call it a deal, a bargain, whatever you call it, but remember to pay your dues! All events, photoshoots, and TFN-member events are for due-paying members only. If you have any questions or concerns about dues, please reach out to our Treasurer, Anu (kherlen2@illinois.edu). When sending the money over, please use “tfnuiuc@gmail.com” through Zelle or Venmo. Make sure to include your name! It makes it easier for everyone to confirm you have paid when attendance is taken at shoots, events, etc.
